Paul Carron - Principal Clarinet
Originally from Trois-Rivières, Que., where he received his
early musical training, Paul played the clarinet in community concerts bands.
After retiring from a career as an Ottawa area educator, he
undertook more advanced training, studying first with Joy
Skrapek and then with Shauna McDonald from the Faculty of Music, at the University of Ottawa.
He was invited to join the Parkdale Orchestra in 2002 as
principal clarinetist. He also plays with the Strings of St. John whenever the repertoire calls for clarinets.
His love of classical music is coupled with a fondness for jazz and he plays tenor sax in a Big Band.
