Marc Larocque- Principal Trombone

Marc began playing the trombone in grade 7. After high school, he attended the University of Ottawa in music where he studied with Douglas Burden. After completing his music degree, he completed a teaching degree, also at U of O. He has been working as a teacher since 2007.

Marc is a very active trombonist in the Ottawa area. As well as joining the Parkdale Orchestra as a permanent member in the fall of 2017, he is co-principal trombonist of the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra, and principal trombonist of the Ottawa Wind Ensemble. He has also made guest appearances with the Kanata Symphony Orchestra, the Ottawa Youth Orchestra, the Ottawa Pops Orchestra, as well as many other groups.

After performing with the orchestra as a guest musician, Marc was invited to join the Parkdale Orchestra as a full time member which he gladly accepted. What attracted him to the orchestra were the friendly members, and the chance to perform works that make good use of the trombones.
